The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus generate a remarkable paradox for the Christian Faith. Right at the place where Isaiah's Suffering Servant has been exalted as conquering Lord of all, the firstfruit of a new creation, and the head of a body, "he disappeared." Read the next lines slowly-However, precisely in that place that is vacated by the one who has ascended, a church emerges. That is the hope of humanity, Christ in the hope of glory. (Michael Horton in People and Place, 2008).
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:6-11 ESV)

Election 2011-Liberia
"The Most Promising Method of Securing a Virtuous and Morally Stable People is to Elect Virtuous Leaders. But Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happeness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore, is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man," (Samuel Adams, in Miracle that change the world).
